Liberte Whole Milk Yogurt in Ecuadorian Mango

Y'all, this is such a delicious yogurt. The first time I had mango yogurt was actually in Tokyo at the Park Hyatt Hotel, and I immediately went on a quest in the U.S. after to find a good mango yogurt.

Originally, I could not find any mango yogurts in the grocery stores, but now there are a couple of options, I believe.

This Ecuadorian mango version from Liberte is just what I was looking for. In fact, it's currently one of my favorite, if not FAVORITE, yogurts.

Liberte Yogurt is extremely creamy, kind of like Noosa, but perhaps less tart than Noosa. It's high quality stuff and high on my list.

I discovered today that they have a coffee bean flavor and a French lavender flavor  and an Italian blood orange with ginger (!!) -- which I haven't seen in stores and will now be on the look out for.

Pumpkin Noosa

Okay, I've finally tried the Pumpkin-flavored Noosa. It's very --- pumpkin-y. Like, VERY pumpkin-y.

I do love a pumpkin pie (which is what the pureed pumpkin tasted like), but I don't know that I want pumpkin pie with my yogurt. That said, I still love NOosa yogurt, and I ate the whole thing, obviously.

I found this fun ranking of Noosa flavors, and I concur. Pumpkin is not my favorite, but it was fine.

I'm waiting for the day when Noosa does a red currant flavor. Noosa, red currant maybe?

Oui by Yoplait!

Love Oui by Yoplait! Have you tried this one yet? The texture is light and custard-y, and it really does remind me of the yogurts that I would pick up while in the grocery store in France. It's not overly sweet.

Try. Must try. ;)

I need to try the other flavors...

Siggi's icelandic yogurt -- COCONUT

Y'all, in the past, I was NOT a siggi's fan, like, AT ALL. I don't think I even finished the tiny container the first time I tried it. Sure, the packaging is super sleek and cute, but the original flavor shocked me so much that I never bought another one... and I really like novelty, so that was weird for me.

But, in the interest of the blog, I got my act together, and bought another flavor. .And this one was... surprisingly good. I ate the whole thing. And the taste was pleasant and coconut-y. It reminded me of other coconut greek yogurts I've tried in the past (Trader Joe's anyone), but it still had little hints of that siggi's je ne sais quoi flavor.  Maybe try it?

The packaging is still probably one of my top 5 faves.

What do you think -- you like this one? Do you like Icelandic yogurt??

Chobani flip - Cinnamon Bun Fun flavor

I just tried this Chobani flip for the first time. To be honest, I've never been a huge Chobani fan; something about the tecture and flavors tastes a touch artificial. This "Cinnaamon Bun Fun" flavor includes cinnamon low-fat greek yogurt with pastry crumbles, chewy caramels and cinnamon roasted pecans. Per my other experiences with Chobani, it wasn't my favorite. That said, it also was okay -- I ate the whole thing. The pastry crumbles were a little strange. There were some pieces that were literally perfect squares of chewy something (and I have no idea what -- see the photo). Not for me... though I'll give the other flavors a try.

Phoenicia Specialty Foods's Yogurt made in house

The Phoenicia market is one of my favorite specialty foods stores in Houston, hands down.

They make their own yogurt apparently. I've had them in the past, and they are very good. The consistency is somewhat medium level creaminess, not as creamy as a Noosa, maybe more akin to Brown Cow, and there are small seeds of the fruit in there.

This particular flavor was surprisingly kind of sour. It's not super sweet, which I like, but I was a bit curious as to why there was a slight hint of vinegar (sort of like a kefir).

Anyway, if you're into yogurt and like the novelty factor -- be sure to check this one out! Comes in other flavors as well, like strawberry.

Noosa - Blueberry!

Noosa is quite possibly the best brand of yogurt out there, so this is where we start.

The blueberry one is fairly sweet, with little actual blueberries imbedded. I personally like the gradient of color when you open the yogurt to eat it, and I don't disturb that ombre of colors by mixing up the yogurt. Others do, which is fine, it's a preference thing.

Noosa is incredibly creamy, and I feel like you're getting a lot of yogurt (it's 8oz, but I think they now have smaller versions too). I remember when this first showed up in the grocery stores, and it was VERY exciting.

Although it's an Australian concept, I'm pretty sure that it was founded in Boulder, CO, which is also one of my favorite places.

Do not go through life without trying this -- and try ALL of the flavors (I'm partial to the lemon one). Then, when you're feeling advanced, start adding stuff in like granola. OMG it's so good.
